Melinda Zitnick
Children’s House Assistant
Melinda grew up the daughter of a Montessori teacher in Southern Indiana and has had lifelong exposure to the influence of Dr. Maria Montessori’s methods. She graduated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she focused on ceramics and socially engaged sculpture. She has pursued the Montessori method as a primary classroom assistant in a Montessori school in Chicago, used art as an educational tool through working for social activist art projects, and shared a connection to the earth through working at multiple organic farms. She is gratefully assisting in Johan’s Children’s House classroom. Outside of school, she loves reading, exploring the woods, and making art.
