Joel’s 20+ years of experience teaching mathematics ranges the entire mathematical spectrum, from foundational middle school mathematics through AP Calculus and beyond, including physics, game theory, data science, and more. His experience covers a wide range of independent schools, including eight years at Hawken’s Upper School, four years at The Wellington School, Columbus, and most recently at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. Joel’s experience also includes co-directing Hawken’s Peer Leadership program and coaching cross country — a program he is excited to develop here at Hershey. He is particularly drawn to project-based learning, fostering positive mindsets about mathematical thinking, and collaborating with colleagues for interdisciplinary learning.

Joel has three young children who attend the Concord Campus and love all things Hershey!
